alicia & jason – october 12, 2012

Alicia and I first met back in 2011. We talked over coffee, discussing life and wedding details and instantly I wanted to be her friend. She made me laugh and continued to do so throughout the planning process. I may be a little biased but I swear I have THE BEST clients!

Before we knew it, Jalicia’s wedding day was here. (No, that’s not a spelling error. Jalicia is a word created by the bride, kind of like Brangelina, or Bennifer – I told you she was funny). Their ceremony and reception were held at the Casino San Clemente, a place that is quickly becoming one of my favorite venues. Despite the rain just 24 hours earlier, the weather couldn’t have been more beautiful.

It is always special to watch two people commit their lives to one another in front of their families and friends. It’s even sweeter to watch them become a family. Jason’s son Luke was his best man (I know, sweetest thing ever right?!?!) I’m pretty sure if you look up the word cool in the dictionary, you would find a picture of Luke next to it. After watching them together, it’s pretty clear he gets his swagger from his dad. The way the two of them rocked their shades all day was perfection. Speaking of perfection, I’m convinced that Alicia secretly models part time. Not only is she absolutely stunning but she knows how to work the camera and make it look effortless. She looked so beautiful in her backless, lace dress.

Alicia and Jason wanted their wedding to be an intimate setting that reflected some of their favorite things. They loved the simplicity and rustic vibe of the desert. So they chose to incorporate cactus and succulents into their centerpieces and cocktail arrangements. They also love Mexican food and decided on a taco bar for their main course. For favors, they handed out personalized decks of cards since they enjoy playing card games. They also opted for a caricature artist instead of a photobooth – yet another detail that truly reflected their fun personalities. Other reception details included prediction cards, burlap, handwritten chalkboard signs and a fabulous dessert bar.

One of the most important things to Alicia & Jason throughout the planning process was that they wanted their guests to have fun. Mission accomplished. Not only did the guests party hard but you could tell that every single one of them felt honored to share their day with them.

{Alicia & Jason – Thank you ten times over for allowing me to be a part of your special day! I hope your wedding was everything you envisioned and more. I wish you all the best in the future as husband and wife as well as a new family of three.}
