brian & laura – march 26, 2011

My first wedding of 2011 was on Saturday, March 26 where I witnessed Brian and Laura tie the knot! I was introduced to Laura by Aly with the Vines Leaf, who provided the stunning flowers for this wedding. Laura is such a sweetheart and was so easy to work with. The couple got married at Harbor Christian Church and had their reception at the Newport Harbor Yacht Club. They chose yellow and gray as their color palette – one of my favorite combos! We were a little unsure if the weather would cooperate as it had rained a few days before but it couldn’t have been a more beautiful day!

When I first found out that Jim Kennedy was Laura’s photographer, I was super excited! I have seen some of Jim’s work but never had the chance to work with him. He and his wife Stephanie captured some truly stunning images from Brian and Laura’s wedding. You can tell from the pictures that Laura and Brian put a lot of thought into the little details.  The entire day was a true reflection of their outgoing, fun loving personalities! The wedding party and the guests were a lot of fun too. They partied the night away and kept the dance floor packed! Essence Entertainment provided the music throughout the evening. They were awesome! I also had the pleasure of working with Elysium Productions, another company that I had been dying to work with. Kyle and Hilaire were both super friendly – I can’t wait to see the footage they captured!

Laura and Brian had a candy buffet as their favors along with their favorite cookies from Balboa Island. We used mainly yellow and white candies to fill the jars along with some adorable handmade tags as decoration. The guests kept checking to see when we were going to change the sign from “closed” to “open” and as soon as we did, they came running!

At the end of the night, the couple used a boat to make their “grand exit”. It was so cute to watch them pull away from the dock with the “just married” sign on the back of the boat! It was a prefect ending to a perfect night.

{Laura & Brian  – I am truly honored that you chose me to be a part of your special day! Thank you for giving me the chance to witness your love story. I wish you all the best in your future and of course a happily ever after! }

Here are just some of my favorites from their big day. See the rest of the AMAZING images here.
