brittany & alejandro – august 27, 2011

Back in May while setting up for a wedding at the Casino in San Clemente, a woman approached me about her daughter’s upcoming wedding. She mentioned that she was looking for a coordinator to help them and that she liked my work. Unfortunately, when she told me the wedding date, I cringed. I was already booked. I was super bummed but gave her my card anyways in the hopes that I could still help them with some of the planning details and putting together the timeline. Luckily, her mother emailed me a few days later and we met for coffee so I could meet the bride. I instantly fell in love with Brittany! I felt like we were long lost friends. We even ended up having friends in common. I was so excited to hear that they wanted my help with their wedding even though I couldn’t be there on the big day. The planning process was a blast and the more I got to know Brittany and her family, the more I loved them!

Brittany and her mother (and Brittany’s sister Kailyn) worked so hard on all the wedding details. When I found out they hired one of my favorite photographers, Troy Grover Photographers, whom I had been dying to work with, I was even more bummed I wouldn’t be there on their wedding day. But I knew they would capture every detail so I could see how everything came together. Brittany chose a deep navy blue and burnt orange as her colors which were inspired by a beautiful Spanish tile she had found. Some of her other details included a cigar bar, a Mariachi band, and programs that doubled as fans for the guests.

In the end, my fabulous assistant Stefanie was able to step in for me and coordinate their big day. When I finished my other wedding in Temecula (around 10:30 pm), I called Stef to see how Brittany & Alejandro’s wedding was going. I could tell from the noise in the background, that the guests were having a blast. I told Stefanie I would try my hardest to stop by on my way home to say hi before the reception ended (despite my husband tell me I was crazy for trying). I drove about 90 miles an hour from Temecula to San Clemente and pulled up to the Casino just as the guests were walking to their cars. I frantically ran inside and found Brittany in the back room changing out of her dress. I surprised her with a huge hug. I am so glad I made it in time to see the beautiful bride and groom before they pulled away in their limo. I even got to help Stef clean up a little and thank her for such an amazing job. She worked tirelessly to make sure that all of their hard work came together without a hitch. I am so lucky to have such an amazing assistant whom I trust to run the show when I am not able to. Thanks again Stef for being there to make their day perfect! I don’t know what I would do without you! You rock!!

Congratulations Brittany and Alejandro! You two are such an adorable couple! I soooo wish I could have been there for your wedding but I’m glad I was able to see you at the end of the night. I can’t wait to grab lunch with you guys soon and hear about your fabulous honeymoon!
